The warriors were coming off a 73 win season where they steamrolled the Western Conference to meet the Cavaliers in the finals where they took a 3-1 lead but Lebron and the Cavs came back from near defeat to win 4 straight games including a clutch game 7 performance by Lebron and Kyrie to clinch the title.
KD had just come off a 3-1 loss himself, to the WARRIORS, in the western conference finals. KD who had spent 9 years with the Thunder, taking them to the finals once and winning an MVP the year before he left. KD had his pick of teams going into free agency with almost every team offering him a contract, KD chose the team that beat him. The team he could've been destined to dethrone or take on Lebron in the east. KD shocked the basketball world by joining the team that already had 3 all stars. KD and the Warriors went on to win 2 titles in 2 years beating Lebron and the Cavs in convincing fashion.
The KD - Warriors days were a dark time for the NBA with no one really being able to compete which also saw Lebron taking 2 L's in the finals adding to his already poor finals record and putting a dent to the King's legacy.
